where slippage, priority fee and mev settings are on jupiter
Open the gear on the swap panel on jup.ag. It opens Swap Settings, with a toggle between Ultra V3 and Manual. Ultra V3, the default, sets slippage, priority fee and MEV protection for you. Manual shows Max Slippage, Transaction Landing with Priority Fee and Jito Tip, and Routing.
Not the gear in the top navigation bar. That one opens the general Settings panel, with tabs for General, Spot and Portfolio, and none of them holds slippage.
ultra v3, the default
Ultra handles these itself.
- Slippage. RTSE sets it for each swap based on the token's category, recent volatility, liquidity depth and network conditions. Jupiter notes that a value like 0.73% is normal for most non-stable swaps.
- Landing and MEV. Jupiter describes Beam, its landing engine, as private, MEV-resistant execution.
- Priority fee and tip. Set automatically according to network conditions.
- Fee. The Ultra schedule ranges from 0% to 0.5% depending on the pair. Every rate is here.
manual
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Max Slippage | a preset, 0.5% or 1%, or a custom percentage, fixed at what you set |
| Transaction Landing | Max Cap, a dynamically estimated maximum fee for your trade size, or Exact Fee, an amount you enter |
| Priority Fee | sends through a standard RPC with a priority fee, its own SOL amount |
| Jito Tip | sends through a Jito RPC with a tip, its own SOL amount |
| Use wSOL | swaps to SOL deliver wSOL instead of native SOL |
| Routers | Metis and JupiterZ, and at least one has to stay on |
| AMM sources | individual AMMs on or off, out of the 100+ supported |
Priority Fee and Jito Tip can both be on at once. If the transaction lands through a standard RPC, only the priority fee is paid. If it lands through Jito, both are.
What Manual costs: Jupiter takes no commission, but the mode has no MEV protection, no refunds and no support, and its trades don't count toward incentive campaigns. Manual also means the slippage number is yours, including when it's wrong.
where the mev toggle went
Jupiter now has no separate MEV toggle and no Dynamic Slippage option. If a guide has you searching for either, it covers an older interface. Protection is now part of the mode.
In Ultra, the landing engine is described as MEV-resistant. For Manual, Jupiter contradicts itself. Its Manual Mode page says it "does not include MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) protection". The comparison table on the fees page says "Depends on configuration", and the same page describes the Jito tip as part of MEV-protect broadcasting. Jupiter's risks page sides with the first: Manual has no MEV protection, and Ultra's reduces the risk without removing it. Read Manual as unprotected.
no manual option?
Jupiter has two interface modes: Classic, a simple swap widget that "uses Ultra only", and Trench, a compact layout with manual presets. The switch is under Settings, then Spot, then Trading Mode, in the top-bar gear. If Swap Settings shows no Manual option, that is the setting to check first.
