withdrew from kraken on the wrong network

Kraken can't pull it back: crypto withdrawals are not reversible once sent on the blockchain. Where it landed decides the rest. On your own 0x wallet, on a different EVM chain, it is at the same address on that chain. At another exchange, only that exchange's support can look.

first, check the status

Find the withdrawal in your activity tab. Still Initiated? Cancel it. In Pending you may still be able to. Once it's broadcast to the blockchain, it can't be cancelled; take its TxID and look it up on the explorer for the network you picked.

your own wallet, another evm chain

Say you sent USDC to your MetaMask address on Base when you meant Arbitrum. Your address is the same on every EVM chain, so MetaMask files this under recoverable: the funds are there. Switch the wallet to the chain you sent on and they show. From there you can bridge them where you meant them to go.

evm and non-evm crossed

An 0x address on a Solana network, or a Solana address on an EVM one, is a different case. MetaMask says the tokens are likely gone for good, because an address on one kind of network does not match any address on the other.

sent to another exchange

Contact that exchange's support with the TxID. Kraken sends you there. Whether it can recover a deposit on a network it does not support is up to that exchange.

If the other side sent it back and it hasn't shown up, contact Kraken support: returned withdrawals land in Kraken's withdrawal wallets and are credited by hand.

the other way: into kraken on the wrong network

Here Kraken has a recovery process, through its support team:

Kraken's Recovery fees table: Deposit not credited Free, Missing or Incorrect Tag/Memo and Deposit to hot wallet at Network fee, unsupported tokens $200 USD and unlisted assets on unsupported networks $500 USD.

nobody real DMs you about it

Ignore anyone who messages you offering to recover your funds. MetaMask says it will never message you or ask for your recovery phrase, and anyone who does is a scammer. Go through the exchange's own support, from its own site.

Next time, the network check is on withdraw from kraken to a wallet, and the same checks for any exchange are on sending crypto from an exchange to your own wallet.
