how to bridge to robinhood chain, and back to ethereum
The canonical bridge is the native way in and out; deposits usually confirm within 10 minutes, while withdrawals wait behind a seven day challenge period. You need ETH on the chain for gas before you can do anything there, including receiving something you already own.
in
- Add the network first, or use a wallet that already has it. Nothing below works until your wallet is on chain 4663.
- Bridge ETH through the canonical bridge, a partner route Robinhood names, or a venue's own deposit panel, not an address from a DM or a search result. Send a small amount first.
- Wait for confirmation. The documented expectation is within 10 minutes.
- Check the balance on the Robinhood Chain explorer, at your address, on that chain. Not on Etherscan. This is where most "my bridge failed" reports actually end.
- Then move whatever you actually came for.
out
The withdrawal is three phases and only the first one feels like anything: initiate on Robinhood Chain, wait out the seven day challenge period, then claim on Ethereum. That last step is required and it costs L1 gas. The week is not a Robinhood decision, it is how Arbitrum's fraud proof system works, and every chain built on that framework has the same shape. If you initiate a withdrawal and walk away assuming it lands on its own, it does not. It sits there waiting for you to claim it.
Size that into the decision before you bridge, not after. Anything you might need inside a week should not be on the far side of a challenge period.
when the deposit half-fails
There is a specific failure the docs call out: the Ethereum side succeeds and the Robinhood Chain side does not, usually because of insufficient gas. The funds are not lost. They do have to be manually redeemed, and the window for that is seven days.
So if a bridge transaction shows as sent on Ethereum and nothing arrived, do not send it again. Go and look for a redemption to claim, and do it inside the week.
fees
Gas is ETH. A transaction fee has two parts, an L2 execution fee and an L1 data fee for posting the data to Ethereum, and your wallet's estimate already includes both. The L1 half moves with Ethereum congestion, which is why an identical transaction can cost noticeably more on a busy day.
