# sending crypto from an exchange to your own wallet

Copy the address from your wallet's receive screen, pick the network the wallet showed you for it, send a small amount first, then the rest. A memo or tag is only for a receiving side that asks for one. The fee and the minimum depend on the network, and the withdraw form shows both.

## the address and the network

The receiving wallet decides the network, not the exchange and not the fee.

- **Phantom** has one receive address per network. Your Solana address takes SOL, USDC and other Solana tokens. In the exchange, paste it and pick the same network Phantom showed you.
- **MetaMask, or any 0x address**, is the same on every EVM chain. The network you pick on the exchange is the chain it lands on, so pick the one you plan to use it on.
- **Crossing kinds** is different: MetaMask says tokens sent across an EVM and a non-EVM address are likely gone.

Exchanges say the same from their side. Binance's rule: don't pick the cheapest network, pick the one the receiving side supports, and check that it supports the token's contract too.

## memo or tag

Some networks give many users one shared address and tell them apart by a memo, which some platforms call a tag. That is how exchanges take deposits on those networks. Your own wallet address is yours alone; Phantom's receive steps ask only for the address and the network. If the receiving side shows you a memo, enter it exactly. Forget it and the receiving platform's support is the only place to ask.

## fee and minimum

The fee is paid to the network, not the exchange, and it moves with how busy the network is. Every withdrawal also has a minimum, and both depend on the network you pick. The withdraw form shows the current pair before you confirm; trust it over any list, ours included.

## test small, then the rest

Send a small amount to a new address first and wait for it to show in the wallet. Binance's own flow suggests it. Some exchanges take longer, and Phantom says networks such as Bitcoin can take longer.

## related questions

- **Which network do I pick to withdraw from Binance to my wallet?** The one your wallet receives on, never the cheapest: Solana for a Phantom Solana address, the chain you plan to use for an 0x address. The fee and minimum depend on the network and show on the form. Test small first.
- **I withdrew from Binance on the wrong network. Can I get it back?** Not from Binance: once crypto leaves for another platform, Binance says it can't help. On your own 0x wallet on another EVM chain, it is at the same address there; switch networks. At another exchange, ask that exchange with the TxID.
- **How do I get crypto from an exchange onto Solana, Hyperliquid or Robinhood Chain?** Buy on the exchange, withdraw to your own wallet on the network your next stop uses, then trade there. SOL on Solana for Axiom, Photon or Jupiter. USDC on Arbitrum for Hyperliquid, unless the exchange sends there directly. ETH on Ethereum, then bridged, for Robinhood Chain.
- **How do I buy crypto on Binance?** By card under Buy Crypto, P2P from another Binance user, or a bank transfer into your fiat balance and a buy with that. Binance asks for identity verification and two-factor authentication first.

## when this is not enough

Axiom has you deposit SOL straight into the wallet it shows you, so a withdrawal on Solana can land in the account you trade from, with no second send from a wallet in between. [where deposit is on axiom](https://apebrief.com/axiom/deposit/)

Signing up on our code gets you Axiom's referral discount, and we get a commission from Axiom, which helps support our work.
