# how to buy crypto on kucoin: card, p2p or bank transfer

Three routes: a Visa or Mastercard card under Buy Crypto, P2P from another KuCoin user or a matched merchant, or a bank transfer into your fiat balance and a buy with that. KuCoin asks you to verify your identity before any of them.

## before any of them

Finish your identity verification on KuCoin. Card buys need Advanced Verification, and P2P Express and bank deposits need a KYC-verified account. The currencies each route accepts are shown on the **Buy Crypto** screen for your account.

## by card

1. **Buy Crypto**, then **Fast Trade**.
2. Pick the crypto and the currency you pay in, then **Buy**.
3. No card linked yet? The page walks you through adding one.
4. Check the order and confirm. The fee is taken out of what you pay and shows on the confirmation page.
5. **View Order** shows the purchase, under your Funding Account.

KuCoin takes Visa and Mastercard, credit, debit and prepaid, with 3D Secure turned on. KuCoin names USDT as what a card buys, and puts a single payment between $5 and $5,000. The screen may offer more. Your card issuer can add its own fees. If the card is charged and no crypto arrives, KuCoin cancels the order within two hours.

## p2p

You buy from another user and pay them directly, by bank transfer or a payment app they name. Add a payment method first.

1. **Buy Crypto**, then **P2P**.
2. **Fast Trade** matches you to a counterparty. The **P2P** zone lets you pick a seller's ad yourself.
3. Pay the seller outside KuCoin, then **Pay** and **Confirm payment**.
4. The seller releases the crypto. If it doesn't come, **Need Help?** reaches KuCoin's support.

Never press **Confirm payment** before you have paid. Never cancel after paying unless the seller has refunded you. You can hold at most two open orders.

**P2P Express** under Fast Trade is the matched version: a merchant releases USDT and KuCoin converts it to the coin you picked. If the price moved a lot in between, KuCoin stops and asks, and you can keep the USDT. KuCoin says it adds no fee.

## bank transfer, then buy

KuCoin only lays out the EUR route, by SEPA.

1. **Buy Crypto**, then **Fiat Deposit**, **EUR** and **Regular Bank Transfer (SEPA)**.
2. Finish the extra SEPA verification it asks for.
3. Send from your own SEPA bank account to the details KuCoin shows. A regular SEPA transfer takes 1-2 business days and lands in your Funding Account.
4. Then **Buy Crypto**, **Fast Trade**, and pay with **Fiat Balance**. The fee shows before you confirm.

## once it's bought

It sits in your KuCoin Funding Account, which is one of the two accounts KuCoin withdraws from.
