# where to change slippage on axiom

Slippage is the Max % field in the settings panel behind the button in the top right, and Axiom's own example is that 1000% accepts up to a 10x price move before it cancels. Same panel as the priority fee and the bribe.

## the trade you are actually making

Low slippage means more failed transactions and fewer terrible fills. High slippage means fewer failures and the occasional fill you will think about for a week. There is no setting that gives you both, and anyone who tells you their number is the correct one is describing their own risk tolerance, not yours.

Axiom's own guidance runs both ways: raise it for highly volatile assets to reduce failed transactions, and keep it low if you are not using MEV protection so the transaction does not get sandwiched. Those two tips are in tension on purpose, because the right answer depends on what you are buying and how contested it is.

## before you raise it

- If a transaction failed, check whether it failed on slippage or on priority. They have different fixes and raising the wrong one costs you money without helping.
- Axiom's own example is 1000%, which it describes as accepting up to a 10x price move before the trade cancels [^s2]. That is an instruction to fill your order at any price up to ten times what you saw.
- Slippage is not the platform fee. Axiom's fee is a percentage of the trade, 1% in its own worked example, and it does not move when you change this field.

- **What does Axiom actually charge?** Platform fee starts at 1% of the fill, plus priority you set, plus impact. A referral is a fee cut on the account if the field shows the code. Gas is separate.
- **I swapped on Axiom and the token is gone** Check the tx on a Solana explorer first. Destination address and mint are the ground truth. Then enable that mint in the wallet. Do not swap again to find it.
