# where the priority fee and the bribe are on axiom

Both live behind the settings button in the top right, as PRIO and Bribe, and Axiom documents a default of 0.001 for each. They are two separate fields doing two similar jobs, and neither of them is the platform fee.

The priority fee buys you a better chance of fast confirmation when the network is busy. The bribe is a second incentive to validators, which Axiom describes as optional and recommend for high volume trades.

## about that default

Axiom lists the default as 0.001 for both fields, without the unit beside it. Read the unit from your own panel before you make any changes.

Axiom also calculates a recommended bribe and priority fee from current network conditions, and offers presets. On a normal day those are a better starting point than a number you copied from a thread in March.

## the thing worth understanding

These are not Axiom's fee. Axiom's platform fee is a percentage of the trade, 1% in Axiom's own worked example. The priority fee and the bribe are flat amounts you hand to validators, and they do not scale with your size.

That asymmetry is the whole reason small fills feel expensive. A flat priority payment sized for a contested launch, applied to a small unhurried buy, can dwarf the percentage fee. The fix is not a different terminal. It is looking at the number in the field before you press buy.

## when to raise it, briefly

- The token just launched and everyone is buying the same block: raise it.
- Nothing is contested and you are buying something that has existed for a week: the default or the recommendation is fine.
- Your transaction keeps failing: that is more often slippage than priority. Check that first.

Signing up through this link takes 10% off your Axiom trading fees, which signing up without one does not. We get a commission from Axiom, which helps support our work, at no extra cost to you.

## related questions

- **What does Axiom actually charge?** Platform fee starts at 1% of the fill, plus priority you set, plus impact. A referral is a fee cut on the account if the field shows the code. Gas is separate.
- **Did the Axiom code attach?** Axiom attaches a referral when you sign up through a referral link, and offers no documented way to add one later or confirm it on screen.
