# memecoin metas: how to spot the next one on axiom

A meta is whatever the memecoin market is paying attention to right now: a theme, a kind of coin, a new launchpad. It rotates, and nobody's setup stays right for long. The skill is spotting one while it forms, riding it with a plan, and noticing when it fades. On Axiom, open Discover first to see what's moving, check each coin against three questions (first of its kind? attention growing or peaked? who's already in?), and retune your Pulse filters as the meta shifts.

## what a meta is

Orangie, on his channel Orangie Web3, frames memecoins as an attention game. You're betting a coin gets more attention, not less. A meta is where that attention is pooling right now.

The metas he lists for this year: AI coins, political coins, creator coins, Elon Musk tweets and the Ansem coin. His advice is to trade what's viral, and to notice what you're early to while you scroll TikTok, Instagram and the rest of your feed.

A launchpad can be the meta too. In Orangie's video with Brez Scales, the coins all launched on Paid, a launchpad whose tokens send creator fees to someone's X Money. The video puts the trade down to conviction in the launchpad itself.

Launchpads rotate like everything else. Luke Giroud ticks Pump plus whichever launchpad is trending in his Pulse protocols. Back in the day, he says, you might have had Bonk or Bags there instead, and he expects to turn the trending one off unless it sticks around. The day he recorded, he says, it was stocks and meme stock coins; a few weeks later it could be a different meta entirely.

## where you see one forming on axiom

Luke opens Discover before anything else when he sits down, to see what's been trending and "the meta of the day". It's the first item in the top nav. Its tabs are Top, Trending, DEX, Surge, Live, Radar, Callouts and Streamers, with time frames of 1m, 5m, 30m and 1h.

**Trending** ranks tokens by trading activity over the time frame you pick. Several coins on one theme ranking together is the pattern to look for. Axiom's own caution applies: not every high-volume token is genuine, because volume can be wash traded.

![Axiom's Discover page on the Trending tab with the 1h time frame: tokens ranked by trading activity with market cap, liquidity, volume and transactions.](https://apebrief.com/assets/media/axiom-discover-trending.png)

**Radar** lists venues, each with a Status, when it was First seen, and its Tokens, Traders and Volume over 24h, plus sample tokens. Toggle between 24h and 7d to compare. A name you don't recognize, with traders and tokens behind it, is a launchpad worth a look.

![Axiom's Discover page on the Radar tab, 24h: launchpad venues with status, first seen, tokens, traders and volume over 24 hours.](https://apebrief.com/assets/media/axiom-discover-radar.png)

**Callouts** shows X accounts calling coins: the ticker, the market cap at the call, the caller's win rate, whether the account is X verified, and whether they've sold. A call tells you where attention is pointed. It's still someone else's trade.

**Streamers** has live trading streams, sorted into Home, Live, Featured, Up & Coming, Favorites and All.

Off Discover, four more places to watch:

- **Twitter tracker.** Axiom scans key crypto accounts in real time, and you can add your own handles. It's free once you've traded at least 5 SOL. Elon Musk tweets were a meta of their own, so this is where you see the post land. [track twitter accounts](/axiom/twitter-tracker/)
- **Wallet tracker.** Shows what the wallets you've added are buying, live, while you're on Pulse. When several traders you follow buy the same theme, you see it here. [track a wallet](/axiom/wallet-tracker/)
- **Trader Scan**, in the orderbook interface. For every wallet in a token: what it bought and sold, its balance, realized PnL and how long it's held.
- **OG Mode**, on Similar Tokens. It surfaces the oldest tokens with the highest market caps.

## three questions before you buy

Orangie calls the skill meta recognition and pattern recognition, and boils it down to three questions. Here's where to check each one on Axiom.

**Is it the first of its kind?** A meta brings copies: the same name and picture, launched minutes apart. OG Mode puts the oldest, highest-cap token first. The Pulse filters panel also carries Image Reuse on its Audit tab, and X Reuses, Hide reused X and X Renames on Socials. Try them on coins you already know before you lean on them. When one post spawns dozens of tokens, only a handful matter, usually the earliest that looks clean fast and draws real backers. Ignore the pile.

**Is attention growing or has it peaked?** Flip Discover between 1m, 5m, 30m and 1h. A coin that ranks on 1h but has dropped off 5m is getting less trading now than it was. On Radar, set a launchpad's 24h figures against its 7d. On the Twitter tracker, check whether the posts are still coming.

**Who's already in?** The token's holder figures: Top 10 Holders %, Dev Holding %, Snipers %, Insiders % and Bundle %. [how to read them](/axiom/token-metrics/) Trader Scan shows whether wallets are accumulating, offloading or flipping, and how long they've held. Your wallet tracker shows whether anyone on your list got in before you.

## leaders and copies

Every meta has a leader and a crowd of copies. When the leader runs, the copies get a flip, but they rarely reach its size. So watch the leader: when it dips, the copies slow with it. Once one coin in a theme gets big, the theme itself is the meta, and its copies are trades, not holds.

## when a meta is fading

What it looks like on screen:

- **Attention has peaked.** The theme's coins drop off Trending on 5m while they still rank on 1h.
- **Copies are everywhere.** New Pairs fills with the same name and picture, over and over. [the columns](/axiom/new-pairs/)
- **Wallets rotate out.** Trader Scan shows holders offloading. Wallets you track sell, then turn up buying a different theme.
- **The leader stalls.** New highs on shrinking volume, then failed tries at the last high.
- **The launchpad cools.** Its Radar row's Tokens 24h and Traders 24h fall against the 7d view.

Write your exit down before you buy: the price or signal that says you're wrong, like volume drying up or the leader breaking down. When it hits, or the three questions stop checking out, follow it.

## how to learn it

Watch people who do it live. Orangie points to traders streaming every day on Twitch's crypto category, and names Cented and Deku. A week watching a good streamer, he says, teaches pace, entries and taking profits. He also says he burned out staring at new pairs all day, and that many of the best traders don't.

Keep a one-line reason for every trade, and look at every loser for the one thing that went wrong: size, entry, or no reason at all. Fix that, then the next.

Don't trade alone, either. His advice is to make friends, meet people and watch streams, because it helps you understand the narratives. [how cook groups recruit](/axiom/cook-groups/)

Learn from them, but don't copy them. Orangie asks viewers not to copy trade streamers: they know they have an audience, and you can't tell whose intentions are good. In the Brez video his line is "never copy anyone blindly." Look into the trade yourself, then ask: "are you okay being in that trade when that trader decides to no longer be in?" Tracking a trader's wallet is for learning how they read a meta, not for following them in. [the wallet tracker](/axiom/wallet-tracker/)

## tune your pulse filters to the meta

There's no permanent best setup. The meta moves, so your filters should move with it.

1. Open a column's filters in Pulse.
2. **Protocols** is a tick-list of launchpads: Pump, Mayhem, Bags, Bonk, Bonkers, Printr, Liquid, Surge, Soar, Moonshot and more behind Show more. Tick the one that's running. Untick it when it fades.
3. **Search Keywords** and **Exclude Keywords** each take a comma-separated list. Put the live meta's words in Search, and a dead meta's words in Exclude.
4. Press Apply All.
5. Come back to it whenever Discover shows the meta has shifted.

## size it before you ride it

A meta can turn while you're in it. Orangie's advice, in the Brez video, is to set the amount you're comfortable losing first. In his course, it's to play small and give it a few weeks.

## related questions

- **What is Pulse on Axiom?** Axiom's live feed of new tokens in three columns: New Pairs, Final Stretch and Migrated. Every chain you leave switched on feeds the same columns, so one column mixes SOL, ETH, BNB, HYPE and USDC quotes. It is the second item in the top nav, after Discover.
- **I swapped on Axiom and the token is gone** Check the tx on a Solana explorer first. Destination address and mint are the ground truth. Then enable that mint in the wallet. Do not swap again to find it.
